Dr. Matt Bergles

Matt Bergles has been teaching for 37 years in public and private schools. He has experienced nearly every conceivable scenario that Tools for Teaching equips teachers to effectively handle. He has taught pre-school, elementary, middle and high school as well as university undergraduate and graduate students. He was a long-time high school football coach and holds a Ph.D. in Public Affairs. Matt is also a professional mediator/facilitator who mediates disputes between neighbors as well as citizens and police officers. He has authored two books about wildlife - Endangered Species Policy Implementation (Lambert, 2009), a study of wildlife policy implementation concerning private lands; and Larry Saves the Prairie (Merry Dissonance Press, 2015), an illustrated children’s book about Larry Haverfield, a Kansas rancher who took on “the system” to do what he felt was right for native wildlife. Additionally, he has published articles in Endangered Species Update, a policy journal.
