Discipline Management Outside of the Classroom
Selected Chapters from Dr. Jones' Positive Classroom
Discipline
Tools for Teaching deals with discipline management
inside of the classroom. It deals with both prevention
and remediation - the integration of discipline, instruction
and motivation. It does not, however, deal with discipline
management outside of the classroom. It does
not address, for example, noise in the halls, management
of the lunch room, rowdy assemblies, etc.
Discipline management outside of the classroom is addressed
more thoroughly in Dr. Jones' previous book, Positive
Classroom Discipline. During workshops, questions
often focus on discipline management outside of the classroom
as teachers apply their new learning to school site problems.
As an aid to answering these questions while supplying
additional information to readers of Tools for Teaching,
the relevant chapters from Positive Classroom Discipline
are posted below.
